I would say provided it has not won previously at the MASA show then it can be entered.
Those that have one can still be shown, but should not be entered in the European Contest.

I would further that in saying (and this is just my opinion), if it has been entered in a previous MASA competition, then it should be ineligible for the 2010 contest.

I know some guys bring out the same kits year after year, more or less to fill the tables, but I don't think a kit that was entered in past years should be allowed to be entered in a new contest. Whether it won or not to me is irrelevant, do you just keep entering the same kit every year until you win? Or it falls apart?

Again, just my opinion, despite rules at shows are, if I build a kit, it makes the rounds to the shows once (usually just Halifax, Fredericton and Moncton), and then gets "retired" from service. I mean I could easily enter my F430 I had last year, but won't because it was there last year, despite winning anything for it or not (which I didn't I don't believe).

What I will do (if I can get off my butt), is enter a German car in to the CAMS show German Car theme, and then turn around and enter it in the MASA European Cars build.....I think that is completely doable and fair, no matter what it wins at CAMS.

Of course I still have to build something, so it could all be a moot point anyway! LOL
Thanks

Your quote above is against the rules of every show i've ever entered. You show it once at each show, and thats it, unless it goes in the Masters. Do all the local shows really let you keep entering the same kit, or is it guys just trying to get away with it without getting caught?

I was thinking of entering a couple of kits that have not been to the MASA show yet, one of them is the little 250TR, the other is a 1/12 Ferrari 312T4 I built a few years ago, mind you itll need to be cleaned up and polished a bit. If not, I could try and get that Fujim Ferrari F189 done.

At there MASA show, there is really no "placing", no 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

Basically people vote on the 3 kits they like the best out of all of the cars, and the ones with the top 10 votes get a plaque...but in no particular order, so no one really knows (other than those that count the votes) who got the most votes.

Shearwater has a Master's class, if you have won with your kit before, then you can enter it again, but in the master's class, however, I don't agree with any kits being in the Master's class, being eligible for Best In Show award. Case in point, in 2008, Ian Moore won Best In Show for his 1/350 Russian Kuztenov. At the 2009 show he brought it again, and entered it into the Master's class, and again, because it got the most votes overall, was awarded Best In Show. Didn't really think that was fair, and don't think that kits in the Master's Class should be eligible for Best In Show. However, Shearwater isn't my local show, and I have nothing to do with the rules or organizing, they can run their show how they would like, just an opinion.

Not taking anything away from Ian Moore's ship, it was awesome.....but to win Best In Show 2 yrs in a row.....I don't think was right, and it should have gone to the kit with the most votes outside of the Master's class, whatever that would have been, and given someone else a chance. Theoretically, you could enter the same kit year after year in Master's and win Best In Show year after year if the votes fall your way.

For me, I have no idea what I am going to build. Would love to do the Tamiya Porsche Carrera GT, but don't think I would have the time left to devote to what I want to do to it. There is the Audi R10 and R8, however I have PE for both of them. So it may come down to the Fujimi '67 911R Coupe, would kill 2 birds with one stone for both CAMS and MASA. However along with that, I want to build a Challenger for the CAMS theme, Spitfire for Norm's build, and finish the French UE Carrier also for a CAMS theme.
Thanks
Scott
